Bookcase Door
This book case is a sliding door. It is about three inches thick. The skirting on the bottom is open, allowing my 15 pound dachshund, Madison, to walk through. The books are actually cut to a depth of 2 inches. More books have been added since this picture was taken. The construction is pine board with dove tail corners. the shelves are fitted with sliding dove tail joints. The skirting has mitered edges. The back is oak faced quarter inch plywood (on the opposite side) with the back painted flat black ( as seen here) to aid the illusion that it is a real book case. The books are glue in place.

Woodworking projects
I've been busy in my woodworking shop the past few months. Now I have somethings to show.
Here is my drop lid desk, a colonial style piece. Above, an angle view with the lid closed and below, with the lid open. Note the interior was designed to hold a notebook computer. Slides pull out to support the lid when open. The lower drawer holds hanging file folders. Except for the hinges, I fabricated every part in the shop including the drawer knobs.

I have been looking for ways of portraying Madison as a Chabadnick. For those who think he should be sporting a beard, please! He is only seven years old. Here he is leaving Egypt thousands of years ago: A scene from “Doxies in History.” This story just now being written by me in clay.
