MY PERSPECTIVE Show

Robert ben Kline received an honorable mention cash award again from the Lake Worth Art League.

The reward was given for the diorama: “Hotel” – a three dimensional depiction and interpretation of the Edward Hopper painting of 1931

The award was given this time in the gallery exhibit: “MY PERSPECTIVE,” at the Reception Sunday February 16, 2009. The show continues through March 23rd.

entertainment, food venders and chalk artists.

LAKE WORTH ART LEAGUE SHOW

Robert ben Kline will receive an honorable mention award at
the Lake Worth Art League “MY PERSPECTIVE” show
for his sculpture “Hotel.”

The award will be presented at 4PM on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 at the artist reception.

The reception is between 3 and 5 PM and will include food and beverages.

Robert ben Kline has 2 sculptures in this show.

“Hotel” is an interpretation of Edward Hopper’s 1931 painting “the Hotel”. His painting depicts a woman sitting on a bed reading a letter, her shoes and suitcases on the floor next to an upholstered chair. Robert’s sculpture depicts it as a seedy place with a dirty floor, yellow stains on the walls and graffiti on the outside wall, also placing a rat behind the suitcases.

“Metamorphosis” illustrates Franz Kafka’s short story “The Metamorphosis.” The main character, Gregor, had been the sole support for his parents and sister until one morning he awoke to discover that he had been transformed into a dung beetle. As the other family members grow to despise him, they also transform into productive contributors to the household.

Lake Worth Art League Show

The Lake Worth Art League Inc. held its “MASTERING COLOR” show at the organization’s gallery at

416 Lake Avenue on January 18, 2009.

Robert ben Kline was award a cash prize for his sculpture “Secretary of State.”

This Blog had only featured my clay sculptures. Now I am presenting my paintings and collages.
